Today is the day. I have just released Coaster 0.1.0 upon the world. Remember: THIS IS BETA (maybe even alpha or negative omega) SOFTWARE. For now, it only burns data CD’s (audio is planned, as well as mixed mode and dvd), but I’m pleased with it. Please try it out and report any bugs that you find (I know that they exist).
I have also updated the screen shots for Coaster. Not much has changed, but I thought I’d post them anyway.

Congratulations on the first release. I really like what I see thus far. Keep up the great work! This is a much needed contribution to GNOME!
Really looking forward to trying this — Open Source CD writing applications are somewhat lacking on all platforms.
Btw, is Coaster very much locked to Unix or could it fairly easily be made possible to compile on Windows?
Well done Bryan, I love coaster =)
A few things:
- is drag&drop for files planned?
- the "Speed" dropdown menu is very large and the first entry isn’t displayed at the top of the dropdown but right beside the "Speed: " label. I’ve seen this in other GTK apps, too, it’s a missuse of the dropdown iirc
Congratulations on the first release. I’m kinda stuck in windows so I’ll never see it(besides screen shots), but I’m glad to see that you got to this point. It looks pretty cool from the screen shots. I’d use it if I could, but yeah…
We’ll catch ya later.
Michi - "is drag&drop for files planned?"
I asked him about this earlier since I would have hoped to see it in this release, and he said he did have it at one point, but it was buggy so he disabled it so as to ensure that what IS there works. It should be back in the next release once he works out how to do it proper.
Hopefully in the next 2 month or so we should see that and the other typical UI features he hasn’t fully implemented in this release show up to get the interface cleaner and more complete even before we see a libburn backend.
I have made a number of bug reports in the Coaster page at gnomefiles.org please have a look.
Eugenia, get fu*ked and STOP trying to plug your fu*king site. is gnomefiles a replacement for bugzilla now? get off your lazy fat arse and report these bugs in the proper place! ffs!
oh Bryan, i’ve left some bugs about coaster in numous slashdot posts, please take a look. ta!
