In the Market

I’m looking for a new laptop backpack or carrying case. It has to have enough room to carry a few books (like my Stroustroup) a mouse, the power cord for my iBook, and some other miscellaneous cables (plus my 12″ iBook!). I took a look at a few bags and I’m quite pleased with the options I have. The first place I looked was RadTech (because I’m going to get their laptop feet since my iBook’s are long gone) and found a couple bags I liked. I also saw a cool glove. Then I checked out Apple’s store to see what they had, and I found one that looks promising. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me? Also, what other cool iBook accessories do people have that they can’t live without? Let me know :).

I’ve got a Swiss Army backpack that I’m happy with. Fits my 15" laptop plus several books/wires/etc. pretty easily.

For hip urban bags, it’s hard to beat Chrome.

The Citizen is what I use, but I ride a bike (they are generally regarded as the best cycling messenger bags by far). If you don’t need something that goes on your back, they have shoulder bags and stuff, too. I had one of those a long time ago, too. It was really well built, like all their bags. I think they come with lifetime warranties.

I like my crumpler backpack a lot.

When I had an ibook I used a timbuk2 sleeve.

I’ve own(ed) a couple, but I definitley recommend this site. http://spireusa.com I own the Endo. Cool thing is they have removable sleeves specifically made for your laptop size. Most other backpacks/messenger bags have the sleeve built in.

I just went thru this… picked up a Brenthaven Trek at newegg.
Includes the removable sleeve and not "strap-happy" like some of the others.

I second the Crumpler suggestion. I have a Crumpler messenger bag, and it’s one of the highest quality bags I’ve seen. They have backpacks, too, if you don’t want a messenger bag, and even hard-sided sleeves specifically sized for Apple notebooks.
